Polar Bear League — win matches, capture courses, control the map.

Ten rounds. Twenty-two weeks. Teams of 8–12. Registration closes October 3.

Put more golf on the calendar.

Golf gives you four hours outside, something to compete over and plenty of time with the people around you.

The only hard part is making it happen often enough.

Links creates more reasons to play throughout the year. Join a team for one of our seasonal leagues. Find an open match when you have a free weekend. Play a new competition, take a golf trip or meet the club away from the course.

You bring the clubs. We keep the calendar interesting.

Pick your way into the game.

Join a league.

Twice a year, Links members are placed on teams for a full season of semi-competitive golf.

You’ll play alongside teammates, face different opponents and have something at stake every time you tee it up. Each season has its own format, identity and reasons to keep checking the standings.

Come to compete. Stay for the group chat.

Get out of town.

Links retreats bring members together for a few days of golf, good meals and the kind of stories that tend to get less accurate over time.

Expect memorable courses, competitive rounds and enough structure to make the trip easy without turning it into a corporate off-site.

Play beyond the scorecard.

Poker nights. Awards dinners. One-off tournaments. New competition formats we want an excuse to try.

Some events involve golf. Others are simply a good reason to get everyone in the same room.

Polar Bear League

Win matches. Capture courses. Control the map.

This winter, teams will compete for control of golf courses across the Bay Area.

Win at a course and your team claims it. Defend it and it grows more valuable. Lose there and it changes hands.

Ten rounds. Twenty-two weeks. One citywide map.

Golf stays better when there’s something to play for.

A normal round is great. A round that changes the standings, captures a course or sends your team into the next bracket is harder to forget.

Links builds original formats around the golf people already love playing. The game stays the same. What’s at stake keeps changing.

One season might be a straightforward scramble league. The next might turn every course in your city into territory. Periodic competitions give members more chances to play without asking them to commit to another full season.

You’ll always know how the format works and why the next round matters.

One round tends to lead to another.

Play with someone in a league match. See them again at poker night. Add them to a Saturday foursome. Sign up for the next season together.

Links helps you keep track of the people you meet through the club and gives you easy ways to play with them again.

Over time, your history grows: teammates, opponents, courses played and people worth inviting back.

That’s how a league becomes a golf community.

Serious about golf. Reasonable about everything else.

Links includes low handicaps, high handicaps and plenty of golfers somewhere in between.

Some members want to win the league. Some want to play more consistently. Most appreciate good competition, a well-run round and people who make four hours on a golf course more enjoyable.

A Links foursome might include music, friendly wagers, detailed swing analysis, a dog walking the fairway or four people grinding over a putt that matters only slightly more than they think it does.

Play your game. Keep pace. Make the group better.

Questions people ask

What is Links?

A Bay Area golf club that puts more golf on your calendar. Seasonal team leagues, open matches through Find a match, retreats and events. You bring the clubs.

What does membership cost?

$20 a month. That includes two seasonal team leagues a year, Find a match, tournaments, poker nights and events. Cancel anytime.

How good do I need to be?

Good enough to keep pace and enjoy four hours outside. Links has low handicaps, high handicaps and everyone in between. Teams and matchups are balanced from an honest estimate of your game. No official handicap required.

How much time is it?

As much as you want. League rounds are 9 holes on a weekend, every two weeks, and you confirm each one before it’s scheduled. Find a match is there when you have a free morning.

Where do you play?

Public courses around the Bay Area. Each league has its own set of courses, and Find a match goes wherever you post the match.

Do I have to join a league to be a member?

No. Some members only create accounts to find people to play friendly matches with. Some only come for poker night. Leagues are the main event, but you decide how much golf you want.

What’s the current league?

The Polar Bear League. Teams compete for control of golf courses across the Bay Area this winter. Registration closes October 3.

Links starts in the Bay Area.

Our first chapter brings golfers together across San Francisco, Oakland and the surrounding Bay Area.

Members play at courses throughout the region rather than around a single home course. The result is a golf club shaped by the city and the people playing across it.

We’re planning future Links chapters in other cities. Put yours on the list and we’ll let you know when we’re headed your way.

We’ll see you out there.
